OUR STORY

Far & Wide started in 2015 with a few students worshipping together in student halls in Sheffield. Together we began to understand something of what God's heart for Sheffield is, a heart of unity where believers from churches all across Sheffield are of one heart, mind and spirit. Far and Wide has never been about filling a room because of amazing worship leaders, or getting ourselves known; our heart is to love one another in the way that Jesus loves the Father, to love each other so well that those who don't yet know Jesus can't help but be attracted to him! Since 2017 we have been putting on worship nights to bring together the churches of Sheffield and to stir up believers to cry out for God's kingdom to come in our city. We released our debut album in 2019, it is full of songs written for Sheffield to claim back the city for God; each song was written out of revelation of what God is doing in the city, churches and people of Sheffield. The three main parts of our vision from the beginning were to see unity across Sheffield, to equip the churches in Sheffield with songs written in and for the city so that we can raise a cry of freedom together, and to see other cities across the world catch something of God's vision for unity between believers. We hope this album blesses you, and that it stirs your heart to seek after the width, length, height and depth of Jesus' love for you and for His world.

Ephesians 3:14 - 21 -  For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,  and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
